Wonderful Sunday

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. As it is the Sunday before Thanksgiving our Oldest Granddaughter, Katelin, and Patrick (her boyfriend) who lives about 3 hours away are coming to have an early Thanksgiving with her mom. They will be stopping by here for her and I to do some baking.

We started this about 12-15 years ago. At one point my daughter and her 2 girls moved in with us, and we baked before any holiday. For many years they thought before Thanksgiving we baked cookies for the Police.

Here is the back story….As I was baking with the girls and Mary we had the kitchen curtains open and having fun. Mary went to wash her hands and noticed a naked man in the yard behind us, we tried to talk hubby into going and telling him to go inside. Hubby said no(he thought we’d lost our minds) The kids were watching the birds and squirrels playing in the yard and the only way they didn’t see the man was there was a tree in the yard. We called the police and they came out and while I was explaining and showing one officer Mary had the girls give cookies to the other officer. The officer I was with saw the man enjoying himself outside and called for backup to arrest him. So after that we baked cookies and gave them to the Police Dept every Thanksgiving. This stopped about 4 years ago.

I still get to bake with each of the granddaughters at some point each year. Such fun and great times. I think we will get Patrick in the kitchen also.

Since the grandkids have all grown into adults with lives of their own, we don’t get a lot of times for things we did together when they were small.

Just some fun times of the past. These are our Granddaughters, the one on the top left is coming today. Lots of silliness and laughing today.

Have a fun weekend all. Stay safe
