Cand making

I am spending today making Peanut brittle. I need to make about 4 lbs of Pecan brittle, 5 lbs of Jalapeno Pecan Brittle, 5 lbs of Peanut brittle, and 3lbs of Jalapeno Brittle. all by the 20th of this month. Today I have made 3lbs of Jalapeno Pecan Brittle and working on Jalapeno Peanut Brittle. I think I can get the Jalapeno Peanut finished today.

Then tonight I will be making bowl cozies.

This evening and tonight I will be making bowl cozies for the sale. Seems like I didn’t have enough sports related cozies. So KC Chiefs, KC Royals, and Sporting KC, football, baseball, and Soccer. Mary(daughter) sold what I had and as I am not a lover of sports didn’t know about Sporting KC and hubby had to show me the fabric. Nice of him.

Hubby does intarsia and made this Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,

he had made 2 of them and we sold one. I told him before we sell another I wanted one to replace the one we sold. I want this for home.

It is so much fun doing what you do. Do you have fun spending your days? Find something you enjoy and keep doing it.

    1. In a 2 qt pan combine 1 1/2c sugar, 1 cup water, 1 cup light corn syrup. Cook this to a soft ball, abt 243 degrees then add 3 Tablespoons butter, 1 1/2 cup peanuts, and about 2 Tablespoons of chopped jalapeno(I use fresh but canned is ok). cook stirring to 3oo degrees and then take off stove add 1 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp water and 1 tsp vanilla. I make the mixture of baking soda, water, and vanilla in the beginning. It is ok for it to sit. Pour hot mixture onto buttered cookie sheets. I actually use an oil pan from automotive store and stretch thinly with buttered hands. NO RINGS..Hot candy under rings is painful. If you need any help let me know. My Cell is 816-489-2905. I like setting things up before I start cooking.. For really hot use Ghost peppers . I like hot but not that hot.
