My weekend started with Saturday a trip to the zoo with hubby and granddaughter. Now to start this we live by 3 time zones in our house. #1 Hubby time early, not just a little bit but in this case 45 min early. #2 Central Time, what the clock says, and #3 Daughter time. This ranges from on the dot or running late. Now in this case Hubby time won out.
On the 30 minute drive we heard “Are we there yet?” This is how a little girl kills 45 minutes till the place opened up.
We spent 4 hours at the zoo. Saw everything from the Polar Bears, Penguins, to “The biggest Elephants I’ve ever seen in my whole life.” Says the 4 yr. old. We even got a face painting done.
Proud of this little lady. She walked the whole time. We offered to get a wagon and she informed us she was a big girl and didn’t need it. As we left the parking lot the back seat was a lot quieter than it was in the morning. Now we know why.
Freeway was a mess so by time we got home she had had an hour nap and was ready to have fun. Grandma wasn’t so sure so we played in the yard. She had tripped and scrapped the knees so after doctoring them and she told Grandpa.”You have to be careful with me, cuz I’m hurt.” This was fun Saturday.
On Sunday I was going thru a file cabinet that needed cleaning out and found a Wonderful thing. A Sunflower Quilt pattern by Mountain Mist printed in the 1930’s. The paper is so brittle but I want to make this one.
Along with the pattern there were the templates cut from cardboard and even one cut from metal. Will look for the fabric today. So excited.
I hope you had as great of a weekend. Enjoy your Monday.
